I design frameworks and inspire vision. I build vision through innate curiosity and earnest empathy. And I guide teams in the pursuit of that vision by giving them the tools they need to do their best work. (right before getting the heck out of the way)

I listen actively and think critically. Collaborating with subject matter experts and consulting with communities in context every step of the way.

I don’t rapid fire or harvest ideas. I don’t brainstorm on command.

I cultivate a culture of creativity and empowerment and as a result, grow and motivate people.

I’ve been told that I’m funny. Hilarious even. But if so, I assure you that it is in good measure:
50% smart. 50% ass.

I’ll question, and fuss over and push. I’ll likely annoy you, but you’ll more than likely love me for it.

I use a lot of colorful language, and cringe when anyone describes my work as “beautiful.”

Design is “beautiful” when it works.

If it doesn’t work, who fucking cares?

I was particularly in awe of her ability to share expansive vision with total clarity and simplicity for her teams and partners. Additionally, Krista never failed to show up in every meeting with a steady calm and relentless wit.
